Jay's Garage Door Service was founded in 1980 by Jay Harrington, after 3 years doing service and installation for another company in southwest Houston.
Originally having started in the Sharpstown and Alief areas, Jay moved to Tomball in 1982.
Service and new construction kept Jay busy through the 1980's in the Tomball, Spring, Bear Creek, and 1960/Hwy 6 areas, and the need soon arose for additional personnel.

If your spring looks like this it is definitely broken!
Garage doors are actually quite heavy, and the spring(s) do the work of picking the door up.
Although the opener may be able to lift the door with the spring broken, it causes an incredible strain on both the top of the door and the garage door opener, and damage may occur.
There is also the possibility that the door can crash down, causing major damage or injury!
